Fitness has always been an important hobby to me. Early on, my active lifestyle involved sports, weight lifting, and “cardio” on a stair stepper or elliptical. After graduating from college I found it more difficult to commit to my regular routine. I had heard of CrossFit and decided to give a workout a try. I did the benchmark workout “Fran”, which absolutely kicked my butt – it was unlike anything else I had done before and I was hooked. Around the same time, I had secured my first job at an outpatient orthopedic clinic and I began to understand the connection between how the movements we perform in CrossFit transfer to everyday activities. I love CrossFit because it is the ultimate assessment of human movement and it facilitates community like no other “gym” could.
